From my friend, “Mrs. P.”
Me (to one of my boys who was absent yesterday): Hey Buddy, you feeling better? Or, wait… Were you sick yesterday?
Boy (sighs): Oh, yeah… gas problems…
Me: Well, I’m glad you’re feeling better…
Boy (shakes head, smiling):
Me: Well, I’m glad you’re feeling better…
Boy (shakes head, smiling):
Ohhh, Mrs. P…. our CAR ran OUT of gas!! (Oh… Oops.)
Girl 1: Mrs. P., I really don’t think that weddings should cost so much money. I’m thinking when I get married, for food for everyone, I’ll just order out KFC turkey or chicken and Pizza Hut.
Girl 2: Yeah, I’m thinking more like left-overs at my wedding.
[Her dad is going to want that in writing.]
Glad the boy clarified that, because I don’t think boys ever run out of gas like cars do. and I was all for ordering pizza at my wedding, but the look I was getting from my wife convinced me that other catering arrangements would be more appropriate.

Haha! Great about the boy thing, I say in my most sarcastic tone.

KFC & Pizza Hut. Wow. Talk about going all out. Wonder if they’ve got their dresses picked out, too.

Probably picked their dresses out at Gymboree.

I like the way those kids think regarding the weddings. My daughter wanted her prom dinner to be at Taco Bell. I thought it was hilarious and SO appropriate for her. No one else did. Including her boyfriend. I think it would have been lovely. I say have leftovers at the wedding!!!

Taco Bell would be funny. I would be fine with KFC or pizza. Leftovers would be a bit much. We had to do that for Christmas dinner once, though. Strange circumstances. It was that or McDonald’s and McDonald’s was closed! 🙂
BTW, prayers, please. Town just north of us on fire!

PIF, I prayed before I started this response.
I pray for everyone’s safety and for these fires to be contained. How terrifying. Please be safe. (That sounds so …. not enough to say.)

Thank you, CM. I can always count on you. The wind shifted and pushed it away from our direction. I’m grateful for my family’s sake, but it’s still such a horrible, scary thing for those still in the path or already affected. And those poor firefighters.

I know that I truly don’t know what everyone is going through. Just what I can get from the news is terrifying enough. I’m so sorry for everyone.

Flooding on one side of country, now fires over here. Too bad we can’t just combine the two! I think it’s getting better out here now, though. Thank God.

Ha! Love it! Gas–such a boy thing to say. And yep, the dad better get the wedding dinner ideas in writing. KFC would be awesome, I think. I mean, a lot of people have chicken for the reception dinner anyway, right? Might as well make it KFC 🙂

Ha! My grandson has reached the age where “tooting” generates that sort of smile. Kids crack me up. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Oddly, my son is at the age (4 months) where when he toots the rest of us smile. 🙂

Subway makes those super duper long subs for catering purposes. That would be handy. Although Wendy’s frosties are to die for.
