When my son was about six years old, he attended a prayer meeting with my mom and me for our American Italian Club.  Everyone had an opportunity to mention their intention, and my son decided he wanted to pray for his grandma, who was there with us. My  mom was smiling with pride until he added,

Jesus speaks to little children

When my daughter was about four, I was telling her that while we were in church everyone needs to be extra quiet. When we are, Jesus can talk to us in our hearts. And if we are quiet, we can hear Him.  She said, “Okay, Mommy,” and about a minute later she said, “Oh Mommy, I hear him.”  I said, “Really? What is He saying?”

She looked up at the cross above the altar and said,

What? This isn’t considered prayer?

One day I was in the small, side Eucharistic chapel at my church for Adoration.  It was about half full of mostly parents I know from my children’s school.  There were, however, a few, elderly, very traditional-looking women in there, too. While everyone is quietly praying, my son got loose and
