I have a picture of Joe sitting on his frog-shaped potty eating directly from a bag of Chex Mix. I totally wanted to use that picture–nothing was visible–but hubby advised against it. Too many weirdos out there, but wouldn’t that have been perfect? Yep, I am totally breeding CM lovers over here. Sitting on the potty, eating Chex Mix = #livingyourbestlife. 😉
The Potty Prizes are in our radar lately. I have suggested one smartie, yet you seem to be having success with the jelly bean. And, you get to share in the reward. Bonus! 🙂
Normally I wouldn’t condone that whole end/means business, but when candy is involved… 😉 Heck, I’m not above mass bribery if it gets a kid out of diapers! And I’m happy I could help. I hope it works for you! Sticker or star charts are also sometimes helpful. Especially if ten stars equals a prize. Being able to pick out their own undies at the store can build some excitement too. 🙂
Love this in its simplicity and its humor! You summed up parenting in a half eaten treat. We take the good with the bad and all sins are forgiven when candy is involved.
That a way, Mom!

Thanks, Frank. It would take a lot for me to turn down a jelly bean, partial or otherwise.

I wonder where that jelly bean has been…? Ever think about that? Lol. Your kids are so thoughtful to share with Mommy.

Only after it was in my mouth. Oh well. It was tasty. 😛

I’ll just overlook the part where he’s not supposed to get candy on his own.

Maybe I should eat half HIS jelly beans and see how he likes it.

I guess a half eaten jelly bean is better than none!

My thoughts exactly. A jelly bean is a jelly bean after all. 🙂

So kind of him to share. You’ve taught him well.

That’s one way of looking at it. Nicer than thinking about how he shouldn’t have gotten candy on his own, but hey, he did share it. 🙂

Was he thinking of me… or was he thinking of candy? Either way, I got some candy. 🙂

Yes!
Yours would be a Chex Mix. Just one piece, of course. Mine would be a Dot’s Pretzel or Cheez-It.

When my three girls were younger, the one potty training earned a prize for her sisters too. Positive peer pressure to succeed! 🙂
