Joe pointed to my husband’s shirt hanging up on the clothes rack and said, “Dada.”
“That’s right, Joe. That’s Dada’s.”
Then he pointed to my husband’s sock and said, “Dada.”
Me, thoroughly impressed: “Yes, Dada’s.”
Then he pointed to his sister’s underwear and said, “Dada.”
So much for that.

Maybe he’s no genius, but he sure is cute.
I agree wholeheartedly, he can say whatever he wants….. being as cute as he is. I would let him get away with anything with that smile of his! (just saying)

Ha! Don’t let him hear that, Val. He’s spoiled enough already by his three big sisters!

I don’t know. Let’s not dismiss this out of hand. You have to ask yourself: Was the sister’s underwear in dada’s size?

Uh, no. Leave it to you to go there.

It really is. Do the others have one?

The oldest does, but it’s harder to spot as she’s gotten older.

Perhaps, but she’s a teenager now, so I don’t expect too much.

Sounds like my toddler: “Ba” for book. “Ba” for bath. “Ba” for bottle!

Totally. It’s good having older kids who can often translate his toddlerisms for me. Nice to see you, Mary!

It’s Tonya. Tony is what my husband calls me when I’m acting like a diva! What’s a male diva called? I don’t know

Don’t you just love the things little ones express and do. These are years that are so impressionable as well, creating their foundation. You are no doubt doing such a wonderful job. 🙂

Thanks, Ron. I do my best, especially to teach my son whose clothes are whose. 🙂

My mind went immediately to a crossdressing joke. But this is a family blog, so I’ll see myself out.

Funny story, but he’ll learn to distinguish the girl undies from the daddy socks all in due time. Meanwhile just look at those eyes. Oh my he is cute.

When he’s being frustrating, it’s impossible to stay irritated for long. I usually end up smothering him with kisses, and he giggles like mad. Therapy for all that ails ya.

Dada is a pretty darn fun word to say over and over again. I’d say that Joe is brilliant! (And soooo adorable.)

IMPORTANT UPDATE, for anyone who may see this–Joseph was once again helping me hang laundry, stating what and to whom the items belonged as he handed them to me, and he correctly identified “Dada’s undies” this time. Thank you. As you were.
