A friend came across these notes she’d written about her daughter and kindly and boldly sent me photos. She even allowed me to share them with you. Enjoy!
Which one is your favorite? I’m torn between the cat and the free vomit.

Oh man! These are great! Like you, I’m split between the cat and the vomit… 😀

Well, this might be obvious, but I have to go with the cats. But I’m not sure that turning into a cat is a bad thing…

Haha. Right? Cats have the life, especially if they’re one of your cats!

But then who would build things for you and rub your tummy?

Andrew, take a look at the picture here: https://ididnthavemyglasseson.com/2019/05/13/content/ Was it taken of one of your cats? 😉

Of course, just a day at the kitty spa 😉

Definitely the vomit. Can relate to that. Well, can relate to whiskers, too, but would never admit it.

Ha. As Andrew said, turning into a cat doesn’t seem like a bad thing.

So good! Since at my age I struggle with a beard, I go with the cat one.

Turning into a cat doesn’t sound so bad. Lying in the sun sleeping. Yes, please. 🙂

And we need our kids to make us laugh. It helps with how difficult they can also be!

The cat one is the most brave to share! I am going with Freeeee, Free vomit!

Because everyone wants their vomit to be free, or because it so often comes freely.

It’s “Free FALLING”, not “Free Bird” that has the lyric “Free vomit.” Francesca always had a good ear.

A lot of people are thrown by the way the title says “Falling” but the lyric itself says “vomit”, so they THINK they hear “free falling” when it’s really “free vomit”. The “falling” in the title refers to the composer’s overall sense of disappointment, but “vomit” indicates the singer’s self-revulsion.

I’m torn between the same two as you … but in the end, free vomit wins.

Because no one should have to pay for their vomit. Good choice, Frank. 🙂

Love these! So funny:) I wish I had saved notes like these–Alex had some very funny things to say when he was little.

I wish I had started saving stuff sooner! (And that I’ll one day remember to go back and read it all!)

Whether you remember to read it or not, your children will find and read it. From THEIR point of view, it’ll be, “These are the silly things Mommy imagined we said. She was a writer, you know.”
This week several times I’ve burst out singing, “I’m free…free vomit.” Not in the middle of a crowd, though, yet.

Funny on all counts, but please don’t sing free vomit in public. I wouldn’t want you to get arrested.
