The return of the Chex Mix Guy

Standard

Just a quick note to tell you Chex Mix was on sale for 99c again. I grabbed a dozen, plus a few other things, and got in line at the store. Lo and behold, The Chex Mix Guy was the cashier.

How appropriate.

“I cleaned out your Chex Mix supply again,” I said with a wry smile.

“Uh-oh, you again. Do you need me to check in the back for more?”

“Nah, I was kidding. I left a few on the shelf.” A very few.

I told him about the blog post and how he entertained so many of you. He was pleased. I don’t remember what else he said, but I was cracking up. A little sign hanging from his name tag said: #1 Fastest Checker. It sure seems that way.

He should have a tip jar.

  1. LOL! And he remembered you! Every time I get Chex mix now (on sale, of course!) I think of you 😀 I just picked up a bunch, but I did restrain myself to only one turtle kind. Otherwise, no one else would get any 😀 And I always use a bowl when I snack on them, otherwise, yes, I’d be in danger of enjoying them a bit too much.

  2. I remember the good old days of picking through the Chex Mix and leaving all pretzels behind. 🙂 Not that you want to insult the Chex Mix guy, but did you know you can make your own, leave out the parts you don’t like, and add M&M’s?!

  3. I once bought something like 35 cans of Snap-E-Tom® from two different grocery stores while on a weekend getaway because it was impossible to find at home. I don’t blame you for filling your cart! (P.S. Safeway down the street carries Snap-E-Tom® here – yay!).

    • Very happy for you for finding a local supplier! I had to look that up. Never heard of it, which is odd since it looks like something that would be sold down here in my neck of the country. Kudos to a fellow hoarder! 🙂
