Just a quick note to tell you Chex Mix was on sale for 99c again. I grabbed a dozen, plus a few other things, and got in line at the store. Lo and behold, The Chex Mix Guy was the cashier.
How appropriate.
“I cleaned out your Chex Mix supply again,” I said with a wry smile.
“Uh-oh, you again. Do you need me to check in the back for more?”
“Nah, I was kidding. I left a few on the shelf.” A very few.
I told him about the blog post and how he entertained so many of you. He was pleased. I don’t remember what else he said, but I was cracking up. A little sign hanging from his name tag said: #1 Fastest Checker. It sure seems that way.
He should have a tip jar.
only a dozen? Not a whole shopping cart full?

I took ALL the good ones and only one of the other kinds.

So under the watchful eye of the Chex Mix Guy you’ve cornered the Chex Mix market once again. Bravo! Happy munching.

Only those who like original flavor are safe when my posse and I roll into the store! 🙂 Thanks, Ally B!

I was just telling my husband last night that I need to pour some in a bowl rather than eat from the bag because I always over-eat. It’s wasteful when I do, but it just tastes so good!

I remember that Chex Mix post. Well done on getting more! … after all, such a deal.

I bet you would’ve cleaned up. Did you hang doodles of customers in the employee break room?

No, but I did take current events polls and post the results on the community bulletin board. Management was not amused, but the customers were.

LOL! And he remembered you! Every time I get Chex mix now (on sale, of course!) I think of you 😀 I just picked up a bunch, but I did restrain myself to only one turtle kind. Otherwise, no one else would get any 😀 And I always use a bowl when I snack on them, otherwise, yes, I’d be in danger of enjoying them a bit too much.

Sadly, this store doesn’t have the turtle kind. I need to start scoping out other stores! It’s the cheddar kind that I love. I hope, for other’s sake, they do have more in the back!

Nice. I wonder if he’s this funny with everyone if you have to make an absurd purchase to bring it out of him. I did see him and go through his line once before, recently, but he didn’t show any recognition, so I said nothing. Since I was buy the C. M. again (Chex Mix, not Chatter Master 😉 ), I just had to say something this time. Who knows if he recognized me the last time.

I remember the good old days of picking through the Chex Mix and leaving all pretzels behind. 🙂 Not that you want to insult the Chex Mix guy, but did you know you can make your own, leave out the parts you don’t like, and add M&M’s?!

Yeah, I know. I was waiting for someone to mention that. Only problem is, that’s like doing a craft. I hate crafts. Or it’s like cooking, another minus. If I can find a perfect imitation of the cheese powder, then maybe I’m in. Until then, I stalk the sales.

Ha ha ha. I don’t have a source of cheese powder. Yum?

So many times, I did just that–cleaned out the Chex. Love that stuff.
Kudos to the checkout guy. If Amazon has their way, he’ll be out of work shortly. Sigh.

What am I missing in the news about Amazon. They’re trying to put grocery stores out of business now?

I once bought something like 35 cans of Snap-E-Tom® from two different grocery stores while on a weekend getaway because it was impossible to find at home. I don’t blame you for filling your cart! (P.S. Safeway down the street carries Snap-E-Tom® here – yay!).

Very happy for you for finding a local supplier! I had to look that up. Never heard of it, which is odd since it looks like something that would be sold down here in my neck of the country. Kudos to a fellow hoarder! 🙂
