2012–101 Tips for a Happier Marriage

2015–101 Tips for Marrying the Right Person (I can’t believe I’m wearing the exact same shirt!)
And now…

2018–If You Keep Perfectly Still, Maybe They Won’t See You, and Other Tips for Happier Parenting (I look like I’m concentrating really hard. What is this pen thing I’m using? At least I have a different shirt on!)
Same lamp, though!

Very true. Good eye. I bet you’re good at finding Waldo, too.

Congratulations, Betsy! Isn’t there a statue near your computer of St. Francis de Sales, patron saint of writers? He’s probably thinking, “You go, girl!”

Ha! Yes. He is, sadly, hiding behind the monitor. He gets shifted when we need to use the printer. Sorry St. FdS!

Each picture has a different pen at least. In the software engineering world we refer to those things as a, “Handheld manual data entry device.” HMDED. Paper is a “static, optical, non-electronic storage system.” SONSS.
And congratulations on the contract!

PLEASE tell me you just made those acronyms up. Please, please tell me your computer world isn’t quite that nerdy. You did make them up, right? And on the spot. Man, you’re good.

Partly made them up. The one on the pen has been going around for years as a joke, but the paper is totally my invention. One of my jobs is creating TLA and sometimes FLA (three, four and five letter acronyms).

That’s a fun job. You should go into naming lipstick colors next.

Congratulations! That’s wonderful. As for the shirt, maybe it’s a lucky shirt. Don’t part with it!

Clearly I’m not good at getting rid of shirts. I saw it and thought, where is that shirt? I need to find it again. 🙂

Congrats on your new contract! When will the new book be out?

Clearly you are lighting the way with your books, and with your continued choice of that particular lamp. Congrats.

I think I’ve had that lamp since before my first was born. Lucky lamp, or lucky shirt? 🙂

I own several hooded sweatshirts…because I’m middle-aged going on poorly dressed and uncoordinated teenager…but if you find a good one, common sense dictates that you wear the shit out of it.

I literally LOLed on that. Yep, as I recall, that shirt has at least one hole in it. Here’s to another 20 years with it!

I’m on blog break, but had to come over to celebrate – Congratulations! … and at least the wall calendars are different. 😉

Awh, thanks, Frank. I’m honored by your visit. And yes, things would’ve been a little suspicious if the calendars didn’t change. Hmm…

Great job! Third book! Making enough to get a new shirt. 😉
Looks like a Vikings pen. Must be your husband’s. 🙂

Close. A gift from my husband. He’ll make a fan of me yet. SKOL!

Yes, this is the second Vikings pen. The first one ran out of ink recently. I was so sad. Then my husband produced a second. What a guy!

LOL! Too true. Once my youngest girl was caught with her hand in the candy drawer. She saw me looking right at her but she still whispered, “Don’t see me. Don’t see me.” Kids!

Busy and vibrant, eh? Is that a euphemism for cluttered? If so, I’m totally going to use it! 😛

Ha ha. That could be me over a 20-year gap! My daughter has been known to remark. “OMG, you got a new shirt!” Congrats on the contract! The new book sounds like it’s going to be a hoot. 😀

Totally me too. I don’t shop. That “new” shirt I’m wearing is from a friend’s cast off bag of clothes.
I hope it will be a hoot. That’s what I’m going for. 🙂

So I’m not the only adult who wears hand-me-overs? Good to know!

It is a rare, rare event when I buy a new shirt! 🙂 How are you liking your job, Gigi? Maybe this isn’t the place to ask! Haha. 🙂

I’m liking it a lot! End-of-the-quarter is usually a very busy time, with projects coming due. But overall–it’s interesting and varied, with great people.

You are a marvel. How do you do all you do and still retain your obvious joy in your family and your ever present sense of humor? Perhaps your 4th book could explain how you manage to juggle so many things.
