While lying in bed, exhausted, nauseous, and useless this first trimester, I said to my husband, “You know how in the movies when a woman is in labor she’s screaming, crushing her husband’s fingers and shouting, ‘You did this to me!'”
“Yes,” he replied with a healthy amount of caution.
“Just in case I’m too busy or I forget, I’ll say it now: You did this to me!”
He said, “Yep, thanks for confirming it was me.”
That’s one of the stories I hope to tell, time permitting, this Saturday at my talk on the other side of the country. In the winter. In the morning. Lots of new territory for me.
If I don’t freeze, don’t oversleep, and do well, I’ll tell you about it next week. Wish me luck!
That’s hilarious.
Oh if there is snow on the ground, I am guessing you aren’t coming to my neck of the woods but are instead sticking to the north which is a shame as it has been in the lower 70s here. In any event, safe travels!

I’m speaking at a conference in Bethesda, MD. Maybe it will be warm there! Whereabouts are you?

I like him – very well put. And just so you know, the cold, wet, white stuff on the ground is called “snow.”

What is the event you’re going to be speaking at? I hope 1st trimester travel isn’t too difficult.

Parenting with Purpose in Bethesda, MD. I’ve tipped into the 2nd trimester, so I think I’ll be okay. Still tired, but far less nauseous!
Thank you, Gigi!

I woke up too early this morning, with thoughts of what I’d put in my blog, then was too awake to fall back asleep. But that will have to wait, I’m afraid. “Real life” intervenes in the meantime! Stay tuned! 🙂

good luck! Husband should come along, as a ‘show and tell’.

Wouldn’t that have been nice? But sadly he had to stay home to take care of the kids. He got mentioned plenty, though. 🙂

Congrats that your expecting another baby! How exciting 🙂 And good luck at your talk.
Isn’t it wonderful when we have a hubby that makes us laugh? Mine makes me laugh every day. When he and I were dating, I told my mother-in-law that Hubby’s sense of humor was one of the things I loved most about him and how he always makes me laugh. I’ll never forget her response, “Yeah, that’ll wear off.” I’m so glad it hasn’t.

“that’ll wear off.”–how sad! But I’m so glad it hasn’t. A sense of humor never goes out of style. I’m blessed with a funny husband too.
The talk went well. Thanks! I hope to post all about the trip soon.

Lol. Infact I did scream just like in the movies with our first child. The kind of screaming that had my beloved running out of that room for his dear life. Laboring is no walk in the park 😂.

Oh, me too. In fact, I remember my mom saying that the way they scream in the movies was a lie and thinking, as I’m doing it, Mom was wrong! Then my sister told me later she had the same experience and the same thought.

Oh…. Bless mothers. They will smooth talk it and then tell us once in the middle of it(labor pains). This was my mother in law in this case.😂😂😂💕
