Can I get that in writing?

Standard

My 6 year-old was whining about her math worksheet. Her older sister said, “You can do it. Mom said it’s easy.”

The 6 year-old replied with, “Yeah, but Mom’s good at everything.”

Clearly a child who hasn’t heard me sing and who has low standards when it comes to home cooked meals.

But I’ll take it.

Subtraction can be a pain. At least, it sounds like it causes her physical pain.

  1. Now that’s a rare and awesome compliment coming from a kid! And I have no doubt it’s true! Just make sure to screen shot it so you can prove she said it when she’s a teenager and denies it. šŸ™‚

  2. Treasure that she thinks you’re good at everything now–just wait until she’s a tween/teen. Ugh. Then, of course, you will know nothing, be out to ruin her life, and suck at the current slang (I mean, “ship it”? Really? That used to mean actually sending something through the mail or UPS.) Oh, and dazzle her now with your awesomeness, because age 11 is coming up fast!! šŸ˜€

  3. Don’t you love it when kids say things that you want to record and use against them later. My kids have both said on several occasions that when they grow up, they want to buy a house right next door to where I’m living. My son wants to live on one side and my daughter wants to live on the other. Every time we have that conversation I want to record it and show it to their future spouse.
