I’ve just given birth! Look at them all. Aren’t they beautiful? And all redheads! Twenty-five of them! Octomom has nothing on me. I’m not even sure there’s a word for giving birth to 25 at once. It’s more like a litter of puppies. That would make me a … Nooooope, never mind!
They actually arrived last week, but I’ve been slowed by my recovery. Postpartum for multiples is an especially difficult time, you know. You’ll be able to get your hands on one next Monday, once you’ve washed your hands, of course.
I also learned that my first book has been translated into Korean! Now there are versions in India, Poland, AND Korea! It’s amazing thinking that my co-author and I are making a difference in people’s lives. I hope this next book will be just like its big sister, maybe even better, but like any good parent, I won’t choose a favorite.
But speaking of the first book, that one there —>, a man in the D.C. area contacted me because he Capital L-Loved it and wants me to speak at an annual conference being held there at the end of February.
I’ll have to buy a coat.
He also wants to buy a copy for each of the 200 or so attendees. Can we say, “Wow”?
And just so I don’t get overly excited about my writing career, or slip something in here about having another article published in our local newspaper (ahem), I’ll remind myself that I am first and foremost a mother to bonafide human beings (or so the doctors patiently reassure me). So here’s an instance that makes that all too clear:
My middle child was on the potty for a long time before bed. She said to me, “I tried to poop but I couldn’t. I’ll try again tomorrow.” Then she added, “You may stay in tonight, poop. You may come out in the morning.”
There you have it folks! Nothing but geniuses in this house. But polite ones at that.
Until next week!
Wow! Congratulations!

LOL! Kids say the craziest things 😀 Congrats on the new additions, and especially the invite to speak. Woo-hoo! Great job!
For that I might have to post a pic of my orange cat this week 🙂

Haha! Yes! How have you gotten away with not posting the orange cat pic for this long?!

Thanks, Jacqui. The blog tour thing is a mystery to me still. Is that basically what I did for you? Post about your book on my blog?

Hey, Jacqui, back to this blog tour thing, which I’ve never done before aside from posting about your book, would you be willing to do a post about this book of mine? Perhaps with a mention that I’ve also written 101 Tips for a Happier Marriage–to reach a wider audience?

First, congratulations on the newest edition. I totally see a family resemblance. Are you getting enough sleep?
Second, on those little tidbits about your first you oh so casually threw in – how super, awesome, amazing, exciting for you!

You liked how I did that, did you? 😉 Thanks for the enthusiasm. Between you and me, I’ve already lost sleep about this talk in Feb. I probably won’t eat or sleep for a week beforehand.
The family resemblance thing really works when you realize I do have two redheaded humans. Ha! 🙂

Yes, it was most masterfully done.
I am sure that you will be a fantastic guest. So Feb. That gives you plenty of time to practice your panic face.

Yes, the panic face. Oh dear. I did NOT, however, slip in that I have a radio interview at the end of this month!

Well there’s no need to be sarcastic 😉 I’ve been away from blogging for a while and just getting around over the last week or so to visit ma buds! And not in order of importance in case you’re thinking – humph! She’s been visiting blots for over a week and only just made it to mine!

No sarcasm intended. I’m so happy to see you back in the blogosphere. I see that you’ve posted too, and I intend to read it very soon, but now I don’t feel too pressured to get it done right away. So there. Humph back atcha. 😉

Thank you. I go on the radio in 13 minutes. It will be a short show, but still… I always worry they’ll ask a question I can’t answer, or I choke, or belch!

Hahahahahahaha! The belch would be hilarious. IF it ever happens….laugh it away. 🙂
