Funny business

When I started this blog, my kids were still quite young.Β  I thought there’d be less fodder for funny blog posts as they got older. I was wrong. My oldest is now 11. She seems to have taken over the story production from her younger siblings. Observe this quote which Facebook tells me I posted one year ago today:

You know your daughter watches a lot of Master Chef when, after hearing the story of Jesus feeding the five thousand she says, “Do you think before he had his disciples pass out the food he said, ‘Service, please’?”

(You’ll especially get that if you watch any Gordon Ramsey cooking shows.)

And today:

She and my husband were taking apart a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle. They had to gather pieces that had fallen on the floor. My husband said, “Do you think we got them all?” She said, “I don’t know. Why don’t you count them?”

Gosh, I love this kid.

  1. β€œI don’t know. Why don’t you count them?”–Can’t fault her logic!

Hope you and your family are doing well and having a great summer. Pretty toasty in California this summer, I imagine. I hope none of those fires are near you.

    • Carrie Rubin! My eyes lit up when I saw your name in my in box. Such a pleasure to have you stop by, as always. I sometimes see your image on other blogs and my eyes smolder with jealousy. Okay, not really. Just being dramatic. Writer and all! πŸ™‚
Yes, the oldest daughter continues to amuse and amaze. And yes, quite hot these days, but thankfully, we’re getting a pass on the wildfires so far this year. They’re farther north at present. We’re always on the alert, though. :/ Thank you for inquiring. I hope your move has gone well?
