A friend was brave enough to share this on Facebook

Standard

Whilst caressing my cheek and speaking in a sweet voice, my daughter said, “Mommy, I really don’t like you. I like daddy.”

How touching.

And someone else sent me this nugget:

I said to my son, “Put your shorts on.”

He said, “Why?”

“Because you’re not really dressed if you run around in your undies.”

He countered with, “But what if I walk around in my undies?”

Hard to argue with that way of thinking.

101 coverIn other news, I was taking a trip through Amazon.com the other day, so I thought I might as well pop over to see what’s new withย  101 Tips for a Happier Marriage only to discover that it has 15 reviews and ALL of them are a full five stars! How many books boast a full five-star rating?

The most recent review says: “These need to be handed out like candy. Excellent book. Must read for everyone.”

Wholeheartedly agree. Christmas is coming, and they do fit nicely into stockings.

Here’s a snippet of a review by someone many of you know, Carrie Rubin, the queen of the blog world:

A quick, easy read of great tips to help navigate marriage regardless of oneโ€™s religious orientation. Itโ€™s the kind of book worth revisiting from time to time since itโ€™s easy for couples to revert back to their previous ways. The focus is on what a person can actively do to improve his/her marriage rather than expecting it to happen passively. For those marriages that are already strong, the words can help maintain that bond.

So check it out for the sake of your relationship and those of the people you care about the most! ๐Ÿ™‚

And while you’re there, snag a copy of Carrie Rubin’s brand spanking new thriller, Eating Bull!

  1. A lot of content here to comment on! LOL So cute what the kids say. My 19 and 26 yr old sons walk OUTSIDE to the driveway and their vehicles if they need something – in their underwear. Hopefully neighbors never see. I heard a story that Amazon is suing 1000 of their vendors for having forged recommendations. That’s it. ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a wonderful day!

  2. You are so sweet. I come here to read your funny words, and not only do I get a laugh, I find a mention of my book. Thank you so much! And your book is very deserving of the five stars. In fact, I’m glad you brought it up, because I just looked at my “Indie Book” pages and realize yours isn’t included with the other books I’ve posted. Probably because you have a publisher, but if it’s a small press, it still falls in that category. I’ll go rectify that now.

Thanks again! And yes, your son makes a valid point. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Stay with me here, takes a bit of setup:
When my grandson was about 4 we had a recliner chair in our bedroom.
From time to time, he’d spend the night at our house and because he afraid of the dark, spiders, racoon, the sky falling, etc, we let him sleep in the recliner in our room.

At times tried the, “Mom let’s me have chocolate for breakfast.” or other variations.
To which Gran replied, “Gran’s house, Gran’s rules.”
Over time he came to accept this.

One weekend the whole family, including parents were spending the night at our house. At bed time the four year-old takes his sleeping bag and starts making a nest for himself on the recliner in our bedroom. To which Mom says, “You can’t sleep in here. You have to sleep with us in the guest room.”

“Grand lets me sleep here.” Said the child.
“Yes, but I don’t think you should.”

Hands on hips, fully confronting Mom the little guy announces, “Gran’s house, Gran’s rules.”

Grand kid thereby over ruled Mother by invoking the Grandma’s house rule.
and yes he happily slept on the recliner for the whole weekend, safe from spiders, raccoons, the sky falling and Mom.

    • Haha! Although, probably to your surprise, what made me laugh most about this post was: “Stay with me here, takes a bit of setup” and your addition to Mom at the end of what he was safe from. What a plucky fellow! Your grandson, too. ๐Ÿ˜‰
