by my five-year-old:
“I’m going to lay on the couch for a nap.”
Minute later:
“I’m taking a nap now.”
Minute later:
“This is the last time you’ll hear from me before I fall asleep.”
30 seconds later:
“Want to see how cute I am when I’m sleeping?”
this is so hilarious.

Isn’t she a doll? I had to run over and smother her with kisses. She was probably thinking, “Mission accomplished.”

I might have said this before, but I think you have a future actress on your hands. How cute! And quite dramatic, too. π

Oh dear. That’s a frightening thought. We live too close to Hollywood for me to be comfortable with that idea. She’ll take off at 18 and try to be “discovered.”

It’s like my son and his desire is to be a famous magician/illusionist. He practices and studies daily for hours. Who am I to rain on his dream? But I certainly encourage (gently–nudge nudge), a practical degree too. π

I have a friend who is a radio show host, but he does magic shows on the side. So, who knows? At least it’s a safe past time. If not necessarily a very lucrative one!

Unless you’re David Copperfield. Then it’s quite lucrative…

Well, yes, there’s that. Or Penn and Teller.

I love magic, but it’s one of those specialties that’s said to be among the hardest to make significant $ at in show biz, and of course entertainment is itself hard for the avg. entertainer to do well at $-wise. However, if you look at my link I joke about how while I went into what’s frequently considered a practical & unglamorous field, I had a friend whose child went into entertainment & succeeded spectacularly; he loved magic too, but that’s not how he makes his living, although knowledge of magic figured highly in his hit TV show, overtly & covertly.

Adorable! I had my exhausted, sugar-crashing toddler on my back (literally, in the carrier) on Easter Sunday. Could feel her little body getting heavy and her head starting to droop onto my neck, but couldn’t see her so I checked in, “Still awake, Baby Girl?”. She shook her head ‘no’…

LMAO, a “napping commentator”! Your five year old can get a job anywhere reporting the news… blow by blow of what happens when you nap!

I think she has surpassed kindergarten already…just saying.

She has surpassed her big sisters at this age, but that’s largely because of them teaching her stuff. I’m grateful for that!

Oh, indeed! A fabulous idea. And in case I don’t have enough posts about my oldest, I do have a photo of her asleep on the toilet!
