And the hits keep coming

Here’s a follow-up to the Do NOT drink the tea! story.

This morning my darling, homicidal three-year-old instructed my husband to be a dragon. Fearing what would happen if he didn’t comply, he roared and clawed at the air. She then said, “Here’s some food for you,” and put a tiny Snow White doll into his mouth. Whether she was a live meal or a victim of the previous tea incident, was unclear. The dragon apparently was not a fan of plastic princesses, however, judging by his quickness to spit it out. Ungrateful!

English: Golden retriever puppy, three months ...

Which is cuter? Me or what I just left behind? Golden retriever puppy, three months old. (Wikipedia)

And in other news, my first grader was reading a small story to help her practice the long “u” sound. Since most of the words with the letter u were geared to this end, she got used to saying the long u instead of the short u, even when the short u was required. So, it shouldn’t have surprised me, but it nonetheless amused me, when she mispronounced the u in this sentence: “The pup is cute.” Although in truth, that isn’t really a sentence that should surprise me considering this whole event.

Have a happy New Year, everyone!

  1. LOL okay this may just be a coincidence, but my kiddo recently declared that his poop looked like his stuffed animal golden retriever. Hmm… maybe “pup” *is* cute.
