This picture has nothing to do with the story. I’m just using it for the sake of those who might not have gotten my “Take the cannoli; leave the gun” reference in the title of this post. Get it now? You’re welcome.
We had a party at our house a few weeks ago to celebrate my daughter’s Confirmation. At one point during the day, I went into the bedroom and found my two nieces, four and five-years-old, tying their balloons to a candle stand and playing with the change jar my husband keeps in our room. I told them, “You girls shouldn’t be playing in here. Why don’t you take your balloons in the other room?” They complied quickly, untying their balloons, then pausing to ask, “Can we take the money with us?”

It doesn’t hurt to ask…right?

I suppose not.

What would you say to something like that

I suppose I would probably just say, “No, honey, that stays here.” But I would also laugh!

I knew it was a little obscure. I know the quote but have never seen the movie! Isn’t that awful?!

Yes. See it now. It might be more of a guy thing.

I have contemplated doing so. It’s a classic series, right? I may be missing something cultural, but I don’t know. Isn’t it pretty violent and/or disturbing?

It’s definitely a classic. I think the book is just as great. It is violent but not terribly so especially compared to today’s fare.

I’ll ask my husband. I’m not even sure whether or not he’s seen them. BTW, last day of school today for him. How about for you?

Monday was my last day of classroom instruction. Two more weeks of state tests, paperwork, clean-up, etc. I wrote a post about it. Show it to your husband. I’d appreciate sharing it with another educator.

Wowsers! And okay, will do. My husband’s sister is also a teacher. She keeps track of her hours each week, and gives some other little insight into teaching now and then on her blog here. You might find it interesting.

I clicked on the link and will definitely read it. Thanks for sending it.

My pleasure. She doesn’t seem to do a whole lot of interacting on her blog, but you may find it highly relatable. She teaches high schoolers, and I think you do too, if memory serves.

Yes, I also teach high school.
