The truth about kids and parties

Standard

English: Owner of photo, technology and trademark.

“Mom is hosting a party tonight,” my husband told our five-year-old daughter.

“Will there be cake and ice cream?” she asked excitedly.

“No, it’s not that kind of a party,” he told her.

She looked down and reflected for a moment. Then her head shot back up, and with a gleam in her eye she said, “Then how about pie?”

One of the moms who attended the party brought a box of chocolate-covered star cookies. When she was about to leave home, her husband instructed their children to say good-bye. Her son picked up the box of cookies, kissed it fondly, and said, “Good-bye.”
