Always a silver lining

Standard

I had a lot of shopping to do and was hauling my son out of the car when I realized I should change his diaper. To save time I just pulled his pants down a little and slapped a diaper on him and hustled into the store.

Halfway through the shopping I realized the cart was wet. One of the water bottles is leaking, I thought, but when I unloaded the groceries, and Brendan, I realized that the front of Brendan’s pants were soaked. I also realized that I had no more diapers. When I pulled down his pants and checked, I realized that in my haste to diaper him, I had simply wound the diaper around his thigh, giving him no protection at all. On the bright side, I had a dry diaper to use.
