I was pregnant with my second but still nursing my first. The doctor said I should stop nursing; otherwise, I might go into early labor. Worried about this, I stopped nursing cold turkey. My son, didn’t quite understand this new concept. He cried at first, of course, but once he got over that, he would pucker his lip and make sucking noises whenever he looked at me, which, of course, was a lot. It went from annoying to embarrassing because he did it, at close range of my chest, even when we were in public.
